Although we have always been in the spirit of friendliness and sharing, we got into home exchange initially for an economic reason. Putting more than 50% of our budget into renting a house, prevented us from fully enjoying the holidays. From the first exchange, we enjoyed spending holidays with the comfort of a main house (kitchen equipment, comfort of a living room and games for the children,...) by reducing our budget while enjoying ourselves by consuming local products and multiplying the activities.

We ABSOLUTELY LOVE home exchanging because we meet the most wonderful people, stay in places we would never have thought about or found, and we get to "live like locals" which gives you so much more insight into your travel destination. We have done almost 70 exchanges and have alwayd fantastic trips, from local swaps to those around the world. It's the only way to travel!!"

We have been exchanging homes for more than 15 years. Within this time we have done several very successful exchanges. In the future we would like to continue with this way of travelling; we are committed to this opportunity of getting to know another culture and area and exchanging with people. In the past, we also offered our home for "house-sitting" and carried out non-simultaneous as well as hospitality exchanges.

We have done home exchanges for over a decade and have been lucky enough to arrange swaps for homes in places like Amsterdam, Morocco, Provence, Barbados and Ireland among others. We love that an exchange gives you more of a “real life” experience than you would ever have by staying in a hotel. As a designer I love houses and homes - and I am always fascinated by foreign architecture and the way people live. When our kids were younger, we found it to be a smart, comfortable, convenient way to travel with them. Plus by saving some money on accommodations and being able to cook at home for some meals, you are also able to spend more on other travel experiences during the trip that you might have otherwise skipped. Through our exchanges we have met kind, interesting, like-minded people and have stayed in touch with them well past the exchanges. All in all, home exchanges are something I always recommend to friends!
