If your home is not available, you have two choices:

1.	You can leave your calendar blank (grey) without specifying a time frame. Make sure to enable the setting to make these times unavailable:

2.	If your home will be unavailable for an extended period of time, you can unpublish it. Your home will not be visible to other members of the community if it is unpublished. You can republish your home at any time.


How do I make my home unavailable?

As part of our commitment to improving security and confidence within the Habiqo Home Swap community, we require members to proceed through a three-step verification process before completing a home swap.  

•	Address and identification checks

•	Phone verification

•	Email confirmation

We kindly request that all members submit the following identification and residency evidence to us:

**One of the following:**

- A clean photo of your ID
- A clean photo of your passport
- A scan of your identity document

**One of the following:**

- A scan of a recent bill
- A rental agreement
- Proof of residency (no older than six months)

In order to verify your mobile number, simply click the "verify my phone" link. You will then receive a text message from us with a code that you must enter.

Your email address would have been immediately verified when you first registered your account and verified it from your inbox.


Verification process

Yes! There are no limits on the number of listings that you can add. Do you have a boat, or a boathouse? You can add those too!

In your account section, under ‘**my account**’ there is a button to add a listing.


Can I add more than one listing?

When you join Habiqo Home Swap, the first thing you should do is create your home listing. To begin, go to the homepage and click on the 'start my free trial' link in the top right-hand corner. If you already have an account, go to your account section and add your listing by following the prompts.

If you wish to make changes to an existing listing or create a new one. All of your home's details, including title, address, descriptions, destination preference, photos, and more, can be edited in the **account** section. Once you have completed all of the mandatory sections, you can save or publish your home. 


How do I setup my home listing?

It is solely the responsibility of the Exchange Host Members to obtain and maintain homeowners', or other insurance as may be required by law. Throughout the Exchange, an active and valid insurance policy should be maintained. 

Is insurance provided by Habiqo Home Swap?

There are no official rules on how you should handle your valuables as everyone has a different situation and preference.
For many people who are considering home swapping, privacy may be one of their major concerns. 
Our advice is to do what feels best for you and to communicate with your exchange partner to reach an understanding. Inform your guests if there are any items you would prefer them not touch or that they should be extra cautious around.


How do I secure my valuables during a swap?

Accidental damage can occur on a trip. Taking a genuine approach and contacting your host immediately to find a resolution is always the best course of action. 
Most hosts will appreciate your offer to pay to repair or replace damaged items. They may even have insurance protection against accidental damage caused by guests - so get in touch with them, and you will probably find a simple solution.

If I damage something in my host's home, what should I do?

Yes! The Habiqo Home Swap tradition is to leave a small gift of welcome, usually a bottle of wine or champagne, or a local specialty. In addition, the makings of a first meal are always welcome after a long journey. When members leave the exchange home, they usually leave a small thank you gift.

Should I leave a welcome gift for my exchange partner?

No, your account cannot be used to complete an exchange for someone who is not a member of your household. 
You can complete an exchange to travel with your friends or extended family, but you must always travel with them.

Using your account to complete a swap for someone outside your household violates our Terms of Service and may result in Habiqo Home Swap terminating your account.


Can I use my account to complete a swap for a friend or extended family member?

Although cancellations are uncommon on the platform. When they occur, they are usually due to unforeseen circumstances such as a member of the family becoming unwell or a local natural disaster making the house unusable as a place to stay. 
Guests are entitled to a full refund of the SandDollars used to book the swap if a host cancels a SandDollar swap. Members who wish to seek additional compensation in the event of a cancellation for a SandDollar or Traditional Swap must contact their swap partner.
